The MINI Countryman is the full-size version of the classic MINI that is more akin to a traditional compact SUV. With four trim levels to choose from, each with a long list of standard and optional features, there’s a MINI option that works for your lifestyle.

Trim Levels of the 2023 MINI Countryman

Base Countryman

The base-level Countryman is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine that puts out an impressive 134 horsepower; more than enough to move the MINI anywhere, fast. The FWD powertrain offers average fuel efficiency ratings of 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, while the AWD configuration clocks in at 23 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.

The interior of the base Countryman is equipped with a panoramic moonroof, a large 8.8-inch infotainment screen, a backup camera, rear parking sensors, a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, and leatherette upholstery.

Countryman S

The S trim of the Countryman adds on the base level trim with an upgraded 2L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, available in both FWD and AWD, that produces 189 horsepower, giving the Countryman a bit more juice under the hood.

The S comes with additional aesthetic and interior upgrade packages, including the S Appearance package which provides a unique grille, badging and dual-tip exhaust, and the Untamed Edition, which provides an exclusive grey paint, unique black exterior trim, green leather upholstery within the cabin and unique two-tone 18-inch wheels.

Countryman John Cooper Works

The John Cooper Works kicks it up a notch and sports an inline-four engine that produces a monstrous 301 horsepower in AWD, with an upgraded suspension system, sport-tuned transmissions, and an upgraded brake system. All of these changes give this version of the Countryman an incredibly responsive and powerful feel on the road.

Countryman SE

The SE offers yet another unique powertrain for the Countryman, a plug-in hybrid configuration that pairs a 1.5L inline three-cylinder engine with an electric motor to push out 224 horsepower. Coming in at an average combined fuel efficiency rating of 73 mpge and an all-electric range of 18 miles, the SE makes it a breeze to get around town without worrying about filling up.

The appearance package that comes with the SE is very similar to the S-level trim, though it does use SE badging, and the optional upgrade packages are similar to what is offered on the S-level trim as well.
